This system provides perceived acceleration that matches the actual acceleration as soon as the accelerator pedal is pressed, as well as rhythmical shifting, enabling the driver to enjoy a new kind of driving performance and refinement you wouldn’t normally expect from a hybrid vehicle.

In the relatively low drive force range such as city driving, the upshift timing has been changed to lower vehicle speeds, enhancing the quietness by suppressing increases in engine RPM. The amount of the Hybrid battery usage has also been expanded. As a result, the system is controlled so that drive force is maintained when the engine speed is lowered, and drive force increases even when the accelerator pedal is pressed lightly, creating a powerful, and yet smooth linear sense of acceleration befitting a flagship luxury sedan.

Thanks to the intelligent hybrid management system, the LS Hybrid will manage 16.1km per litre, whilst achieving and output of 354hp through the powerful 3.5 L V6 and electric motors, all without requiring a charge. The Hybrid battery is covered by warranty for up to eight years, or 160,000km, whichever comes first.
