They set about to enhance the emotional appeal of the brand by creating a completely new coupe that is in no way a sedan derivative, instead utilising dynamic styling that maximizes the wide and low stance through the adoption of a short wheelbase and large diameter wheels.
The interior design achieves that delicate balance of sportiness and elegance. It aims to express an above-class impression through sports model symbolism that evokes driving pleasure while accentuating the elegance of a premium coupe.
Of course, the development team concentrated on the exhilarating performance and agile handling of a coupe, while at the same time focusing on the feeling of unity between vehicle and driver, exceptional ride comfort and meticulous attention that extends to the finer details of the interior. The most connected RC ever, the premium features are rounded off with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, which plays audio through the powerful Mark Levinson® Premium Sound System with 17 speakers.
A highly rigid platform, double-wishbone-type front suspension and multilink rear suspension provide crisp turn-in and poise through curves. Performance comes courtesy of the powerful 3.5-litre V6 engine delivering 260 and 312 horsepower, mated to a sophisticated eight-speed transmission with paddle shifters that delivers lightning-fast upshifts and heart-racing split-second downshifts with rev-matching. This potent combination of engineering and technology empowers the driver to own the road in a way that's totally their own.
The RC offers four unique performance driving modes for added agility or efficiency. Sport S+ mode tightens the suspension to reduce body lean and maximize responsiveness, while Custom drive mode enables the driver to create a unique profile of a combination of drive mode settings for a more personalized driving experience.
Lexus Safety System+ is the most comprehensive safety system ever offered on the RC. This integrated suite of advanced active safety equipment is designed to assist the driver in many ways, including preventing lane drift.
